Ford Rally Car

Fast is not just pure speed, but it is how the speed is generated and where the power is given in order to create a fast car. Rally cars generally come from foreign automakers that utilize the twists and turns of mountainous regions and test tracks to give us the best handling and the most direct control of a car. Now we see the new Ford Focus RS comes in as a serious competitor to any Rally car, in fact it is such a competitor; it could be the closest thing you can get to a Rally car without making tremendous modifications.

The last time the Ford Focus RS was unveiled, we didn’t get to see one in the States for a while, this time, with its new upgrades and second level driving, the Focus will be unleashed on much of the world, including the US. So what makes this car so cool and why would you want to buy one for yourself?

First of all this car will benefit from one of the Mustang engines. The one chosen for this awesome little hot hatch is the 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine. With a new headgasket and better cooling system the engine will now produce 320 horsepower and can actually reach as much as 350 horsepower. This huge increase will create a car that is the most powerful hot hatch in the world as the Focus RS will be able to reach over sixty mph in less than 5.3 seconds.

One of the coolest parts of this awesome car is not just the amazing power from the Mustang engine, but also the way the power is transferred. The Focus RS shows off with a four-wheel drive that is simply amazing and offer an active torque converter which helps the car transfer seventy percent of the power to the rear wheels when needed. Even as great as that sounds, you might be even more impressed with the fact this car can put up to 100 percent of the torque to one wheel when needed, giving it the ability to push out of tight spots and never get stuck, a seriously awesome attribute of a possible Rally car. For those who love their cars and love driving, a manual transmission is almost a must, which this car has. The Focus RS shows up with a six-speed manual that has quick and short throws, making it seriously easy to have fun in this car.

On the inside the Focus RS offer new seats, a better dashboard, new stitching and many other upgrades to give this sporty player an upscale feeling of near luxury. On the outside the car adds a body kit to add better overall cooling of the engine and a rear spoiler that offers some great downforce to this car. The rear diffuser has a central fog lamp to mimic an F1 car and provides the airflow to cool the exhaust, making a unique and understandably focused system.

At an expected price of $37,000, the new Focus RS is a hot hatch that is ready for the track and gives other cars a serious run for their money. With everything on board, this may be the Rally car that can take a win or two right from the assembly line to the racing circuit.
