Same Car Attracting a Different Crowd

If I were to tell you there is a company that has already had a failure with a product that plans to launch the same product once again with extremely limited improvements you would think this is doomed for failure once again. Even though this is a risk that seems to be doomed to instant failure, Karma Automotive will offer the Fisker Karma that came out in 2012 with only a few real upgrades. This does seem to be an extremely high risk that makes any of us wonder why they would offer a car a second time that has failed once.

The Fisker Karma is a gorgeous looking vehicle. This style has stood up to the few years of production and shows up with sleek lines, sensuous curves and a bold appearance that will make anyone want to look its way. This car shows up as a sports luxury sedan that is built to be a serious sports car rather than one that is made to be comfortable on the inside. Even with that said, the Fisker Karma is a car you can easily picture yourself driving on any road, but it didn’t attract a lot of buyers when it was produced before so why should it be a success the second time around?

To be fair there will be a few improvements on the new car so let’s see what these improvements will be. The new version of the Karma will have the same EV and range but a different HV battery that is made to charge faster, which is a significant improvement if you want this car to be your daily driver. The engine will be the same but the screen and dashboard have been updated and the new car will have Driver Assist Braking, Cruise Following and a more reliable traction motor. Unfortunately the brakes will be basic versions unless you want to pay a bit more fur upgraded brakes, which are certainly available.

This new name of the company to Karma Automotive doesn’t mean they have created anything much better, but to be fair this may be a way to bring in revenue needed to begin work on the next great item from Karma Automotive. The production run will be limited to only 100 to 150 version for 207, but if the tides have changed and the car experiences growth and success there should be more for the following year. With a price of $135,000 this is a car that isn’t over priced for what it offers, including the exclusivity of the run.

Who will want to buy this car that unfortunately was abysmal before? This could be a great car to sell in the Silicon Valley area where we see Tesla cars all the time and anything that has a hybrid motor or EV is sought after. This car would certainly stand out against many landscapes as a sexy and gorgeous machine that can give you the look and appeal you want your car to have.
