Cadillac has made a name for itself as a brand that not only offers you luxury but track-ready performance that you can enjoy when you head out on the track. The fact that we won’t see the CTS or ATS models after this year has made us wonder what might be the future of the V-Series models offered from this brand. Thankfully, Cadillac has announced they aren’t turning their back on this part of the fun that we want in our luxury models and we will soon see a CT4-V and a CT5-V to give us the power that we want when it’s time for more fun.
Not as Dynamic
If you’re expecting the CT4-V or CT5-V to be as strong or powerful as the CTS-V was, you can forget it. While the previous CTS-V shared an engine with the Chevy Corvette and the ATS-V shared one with the Camaro, these two new models will have their own version of power delivery. That doesn’t mean you don’t get more, in fact, in both of the new V-Series models, you’ll have the benefits of more power and a more dynamic approach to the drive you want to make when compared to the base versions.
Check Out the Cadillac CT4-V
The new Cadillac CT4-V will be powered by a strong 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 320 horsepower and 369lb.-ft. of torque for the drive you want to experience on the track. This car will be able to deliver 100 percent of the engine torque at just 1,800 rpm to make sure you can get off the line in a hurry. This will be the first version of the CT4 that will arrive on the market for us to see, the next version with the standard engine and offering will arrive about a month later.
The Cadillac CT5-V Arrives
The new Cadillac CT5-V will make use of the same 3.6-liter V6 engine that’s used in the regular CT5 and the CT5 Sport. This engine will be tuned up to give you 355 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque to give you more of what you want. The power will be sent to the wheels through the same ten-speed automatic transmission that you find in the standard CT5 to make sure you can have the performance you want and the upgraded power that you’re looking for.
Improved Looks and Performance Bits
Both of these new Cadillac models will be equipped with visual upgrades which include black accents, quad exhaust inserts, and gray taillights. There are some bright colors offered for these V models including blue, orange, red, and green. You’ll have the benefit of Brembo brakes in both of these cars to give you the stopping power you need when you drive. These cars are going to be faster, more agile, and ready to give you the ride you’re looking for when you’re heading out for a great drive on the road or at the track. Get behind the wheel of the new CT4-V or the CT5-V from Cadillac to enjoy the fun you’re looking for.
