The Nissan Titan was most recently updated in 2020 with a major refresh, so it’s unlikely that anything major will be coming down the pipe for the 2022 truck. However, it remains a top choice among full-size trucks with its proven engine, tough frame, and revised interior. It now includes plenty of connectivity options and a modern safety suite.
Updates for 2022
Not much is expected to be updated for the 2022 model year as the Titan recently received a major refresh, but there are a few changes.
The entry-level S trim will now include a standard trailer hitch and spray-on bed liner. The SV trim will add the Convenience package as standard equipment. This package was previously optional on the SV and includes heated front seats, remote start, dual-zone climate control, and more.
Two cabs are still available in the King Cab and Crew Cab. The Crew Cab naturally has the most legroom and easiest access with four conventional doors. However, the bed of the Crew Cab is slightly shorter than the King Cab at 67 inches vs. 78.7 inches.
The Nissan Titan will continue to be backed by a five-year or 100,000-mile full bumper-to-bumper warranty, which is better than most of its competitors.
2022 Nissan Titan Pricing and Tech
The 2022 Nissan Titan is expected to start at $39,000 for an S King Cab with standard RWD. If you want a Crew Cab Titan, you’ll likely be paying about $3,000 more, and another $3,000 if you want to add 4WD. The SV trim starts around $43,000, the Pro-4X trim starts around $51,000, and the SL trim starts at $57,000. The top trim of the Nissan Titan is the Platinum Crew Cab that comes with 4WD and it starts around $60,000, not including a destination charge.
Tech features on the 2022 Nissan Titan will include an eight-inch touchscreen, Apple and Android connectivity, and several automatic drive-assist features. The interior of the Titan is one of its high points due to the absurdly comfortable Zero Gravity front seats.
Engine and Transmission
One engine continues to be standard equipment on the new Nissan Titan. That engine is a 5.6-liter V8 that makes 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. It’s paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. RWD is standard on most trims with part-time 4WD being available. If you’re looking for a more off-road capable trim, then the Titan Pro-4X adds an electronic locking rear differential, skid plates, and Bilstein shocks.
Fuel economy should still come in at 16/21 MPG for the city/highway on the RWD and AWD models. The Pro-4X gets 15/20 MPG for the city/highway.
Towing capacity for the Titan should remain at 9,660 max when properly equipped. All models can tow at least 9,240 pounds when properly equipped.
Even though the 2022 Nissan Titan isn’t expected to change much, it’s still a solid choice for those who like Nissan’s class-leading warranty and the Titan’s reputation for toughness both on and off-road.
