What vehicles sell the best? If you want to know, you’ll be glad to see this list of the top 10 selling cars so far this year.
For several years, the top models have either been SUVs or pickup trucks. This means we’re spending more on vehicles than ever before, but it also means we’re transitioning in the market the same as many automakers. Most automakers have now moved away from sedans and toward small SUVs. Will the top models be all-electric in a few years? We’ll have to wait and see, but right now, these are the top ten.
10. GMC Sierra
We start our list in the tenth spot with a pickup truck. This upscale truck symbolizes the luxury level of driving offered when you need excellent capability and impressive driving qualities. The GMC Sierra cements its position in the market with both heavy-duty and light-duty models. Through the end of September, the various GMC Sierra models have totaled 169,107 trucks sold. Could one of these pickups become the right vehicle for you to have in your driveway? If you want comfort and capability together, this is the right truck to drive.
9. Toyota Corolla
As long as the Toyota Corolla is produced, you can expect it to be part of the list of top selling cars every year. The Corolla has been one of the most popular cars in the market since it arrived several decades ago. This car is efficient, reliable, and affordable. There’s a 300-horsepower GR Corolla hot hatch that makes this car more exciting. So far, 171,556 Corollas have been sold this year, putting this Toyota in the ninth spot.
8. Jeep Grand Cherokee
The first SUV that shows up on our list is the Jeep Grand Cherokee. With the addition of the new three-row L model, this SUV had strong first several months of the year. The Grand Cherokee offers several trims, including some that reach into the luxury areas of the market. So far, 172,545 models of this Jeep SUV have headed home with new owners. Could this be the capable and useful off-road SUV that you want to drive, or will it be the family hauler you love every day?
7. Toyota Tacoma
A midsize truck hits the list in the seventh spot, giving us a truck that’s been extremely popular for many years. The Toyota Tacoma is offered in more than thirty different configurations, making it easy for most new owners to find the truck they want to drive. The Tacoma stood tall with more sales than the Ford Ranger and Chevy Colorado. The total sales figures for this truck came in at 175,872 to this point in the year. Could it be the truck you turn to for some fun and adventure on the trails?
6. Honda CR-V
If you’ve heard that the Honda CR-V is one of the most popular vehicles in the market, you haven’t heard wrong. This is one of the top selling cars in the market, and it hits the sixth spot overall. A new 2023 version is heading to dealerships now, but the current model has done extremely well for the brand. Through September, 178,687 Honda CR-V SUVs have been added to the vehicles we see driving out on the road.
5. Toyota Camry
Another top sedan comes from Toyota in the form of the Camry. It seems nearly impossible that sedans can break into the top ten when there are so many trucks and SUVs being sold, but Toyota has two of them. This is the best-selling vehicle that isn’t an SUV or pickup truck. The Camry hits the fifth spot with 214,403 models sold, which is a huge jump from the sixth-place Honda CR-V. The Camry has been the best family-sized sedan for generations.
4. Toyota RAV4
We see a huge jump in overall vehicle sales from the Camry to the RAV4. Through September, 303,341 models of this compact SUV have been sold, putting this SUV in the top spot for its class. Most vehicles on this list experience lower sales figures than last year, but the RAV4 is one that has the closest number of sales to last year. If you’re looking for a rugged and impressive compact crossover SUV, the RAV4 is one of the top selling cars you can find and enjoy every day.
3. Ram Pickup Trucks
In the truck market, we don’t only look at the half-ton or heavy-duty models. The Ram pickup truck lineup hits the third spot in this impressive list. For the first nine months of the year, Ram reached 363,089 trucks sold, putting new power and toughness into many driveways. If you want a truck that delivers impressive performance and capability, the Ram lineup gives you a lot to love. Will you choose one of the Ram 1500, Ram 2500HD, or Ram 3500HD trucks to drive?
2. Chevy Silverado
Another lineup of pickup trucks that’s extremely popular is the Chevy Silverado lineup. At one time, Chevy used the “Heartbeat of America” motto to describe this truck in only three years. The Silverado and Ram models flip flop whose name is second or third throughout most years, with a close race down to the end. There have been 374,479 trucks sold so far. You can see just how close the Silverado is to the Ram trucks. Is this a truck you want to drive as a light-duty or heavy-duty pickup? It has the power and capability to give you everything you want in a truck.
1. Ford F-Series Trucks
It’s not even a close contest with the rest of the vehicles on this list. If you’re looking at a list of the top selling cars in the market, the Ford F-Series truck lineup has hit the top for many years. For more than 40 years, Ford has had the top truck in the market. Whether you’re looking for an F-150 or one of the Super Duty models, Ford gives you the truck you want to drive. To date, 467,307 Ford trucks have been sold. Also, with the new electric Lightning truck in the market, Ford added another element to the sales figures, with 8,760 models sold so far.
