The Cadillac V-Series performance division recently celebrated 20 years of excellence and excitement. Let’s look at some Cadillacs with the V-Series badge.

BMW has its M Division, Mercedes-Benz has AMG, and Cadillac has the V. These three luxury automakers stand tall at or near the top of the market with a separate division dedicated to adding performance and fun to the regular lineup of vehicles. Cadillac, while being one of the oldest names in the industry, has only offered V-badged cars for the past twenty years; here are a few of them.

CTS-V – The Most Famous V

The poster child/flagship model wearing the Cadillac performance badge is the CTS-V. The car brought the era into being with incredible performance figures built into the CTS-V.R, which was a racing car that made its debut at the SCCA Pro Racing World Challenge GT. The engine powering this monster was the same LS6 engine found in the Corvette Z06. The 5.7-liter V8 produced 400 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque in the Caddy. This gave the luxury car a sprint speed of 5.3 seconds to hit 60 mph from a standstill.

XLR-V – The Northstar Engine Continued

The Northstar engine was one of the most famous V8 engines in the market for several years. One year after the CTS-V appeared, this Cadillac V-Series car made its debut. The XLR-V features a supercharged V8 engine that provides 440 horsepower and 425 lb-ft of torque, which is a dramatic increase over the naturally aspirated version. The XLR-V also received larger wheels, tires, brakes, and a front anti-roll bar to give it added performance bits and an impressive sprint to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds.

ATS-V – Transforming the V-Series

The Cadillac ATS-V was introduced in 2016 as a sedan and coupe that brought the lineup to a compact sedan with ample performance features. The ATS-V features a strong V6 engine that produces 464 horsepower, making it impressive, fast, and fun. This Caddy won the hearts of many with its 3.9-second sprint time and by beating the BMW M3 and Mercedes-AMG C63 S during head-to-head competition. This cemented the Cadillac performance division as a serious contender against German rivals.

CT4-V Blackwing – The Current Performance Standout

Over the past two decades, Cadillac has produced 13 V-Series models, with several still being offered. One of these current offerings is the CT4-V Blackwing which boasts aggressive styling, a 3.6-liter V6 engine, and an impressive six-speed manual transmission. This performance car delivers 472 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque, which enables it to complete the 0-60 spring in only four seconds. As expected, the CT4-V Blackwing also features Magnetic Ride Control, a Performance Traction Management system, and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential.

CT6-V – A Caddy That Didn’t Need A Performance Variant

The Cadillac CT6 became the flagship sedan for the brand, but the V-Series model was only produced for two model years. The CT6 was meant to rival some of the top luxury sedans, and the V model featured an incredible Blackwing twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produced 550 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque. This incredible luxury car also offered AWD, rear-wheel steering, a limited-slip differential, and an improved chassis to make it a performance-oriented car. The CT6-V was limited to only 1,500 units.

CT5-V Blackwing – The Current Flag Bearer

The Cadillac V-Series lineup is all about high power, high speed, and incredible performance. The current flagship car is the CT5-V Blackwing which uses a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that delivers 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque. This incredible machine can hit 60 mph in only 3.6 seconds and finish a quarter-mile run in 11.6 seconds at 125 mph. Everything you want in an athletic luxury performance car is found in the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, including an impressive six-speed manual transmission.

Escalade-V – They Finally Gave The Escalade Performance Features

The Cadillac Escalade has finally received the V-Series treatments, making it the largest and one of the best models to wear this incredible badge. This popular symbol of prestige and excellence now has the chops to reach 60 mph in only 4.4 seconds. When driving this big SUV, you’ll find a supercharged V8 engine pumping out 682 horsepower and 653 lb-ft of torque and an amazing 38-inch curved OLED display screen in the cabin. This high-performance luxury SUV could be the most fun and impressive vehicle you will ever drive.

These seven Cadillac models wear the V-Series badge proudly. From old models to current offerings, the V has become a strong symbol of performance and excellence in the Cadillac lineup.
