Kia is already expanding its electric vehicle lineup, and now there’s some focus being put on the gas-powered models, including the current K5, Carnival, and the new K4. The new K4 replaces the Forte as the compact sedan offered by this brand.

Let’s take a look at some of the changes being made to the Kia lineup.

2025 Kia K4: A Brand-New Kia

It wasn’t long ago that the K5 replaced the Optima as the midsize sedan, but now Kia is ready to add another new name to the mix. The new K4 replaces the Forte, which has become long in the tooth and one of the few remaining compact sedans available. The new K4 comes in both sedan and hatchback body styles. This car will only be offered with FWD, but it brings a distinct look that borrows styling and refreshed looks from the K5.

Every version of the new K4 comes with a standard 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. We should also see a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes 190 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. This more powerful engine will come in the GT-Line Turbo model.

As a new addition to the Kia lineup, the K4 should have an incredible package of electronics and features. This little car comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch gauge cluster, 5.0-inch climate control interface, and wireless connectivity. Higher trims will come with heated front seats and the GT-Line model will also have a performance suspension.

2025 Kia K5: Improvements Made

The K5 hit the market as a fitting replacement to the Optima with impressive style and refreshed features that make it one of the most impressive midsize sedans available. The new 2025 version will have different headlights, larger taillights, and an integrated trunklid spoiler. This new model will also have a set of upgrade wheels with the GT model showing off with a set of bright green brake calipers and interior elements.

The K5 uses a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 191 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. To replace the 1.6-liter turbocharged engine. This car also has a full package of impressive standard equipment, including:

  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

The Kia K5 continues to be an excellent midsize sedan with a full package of excellent features. This car receives important upgrades to make it more powerful, capable, and modern than before. Will the K5 become the sedan you want to drive and enjoy every day? This car could use a hybrid variant, which might come later, and it could be much sportier than it is.

2025 Kia Carnival: Minivan Changes

The Kia Carnival hasn’t been in the Kia lineup for long, but it is one of the most stylish and impressive minivans you’ll find. The Carnival looks more like an SUV but has the interior qualities that families look for in a minivan. This Kia receives a new hybrid powertrain that is an excellent alternative to the standard V6 engine. This gives drivers a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with an electric motor to send 242 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque to the wheels. This powertrain uses a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The exterior of this Kia minivan also has a restyled look on the outside, a new tailgate with improved lights, and a new set of wheels. Base models have a 4.2-inch instrument cluster and there’s a 12.3-inch central touchscreen for your infotainment. Higher trims have a 12.3-inch touchscreen for the gauges and the infotainment, making it easy to see everything you want on your screens.

Every model of the Carnival uses a new operating system with over-the-air updates and seven USB-C ports which are standard. The Kia lineup is improved with some excellent features that make this minivan more inviting and useful for many families.

These three new models make the Kia lineup more interesting and enjoyable. The new Kia K4 is a compact sedan that takes this class to a new level for this brand, while the K5 and Carnival have upgraded features and impressive technology to add more to the mix.
