Look out on the track, there is an odd shaped car that doesn’t seem like it belongs. It’s a car that appears to be a luxury model that belongs on a road and not the track. Where did this car come from? Why is there a luxury car on the track?

This is the reaction many have when they see the Cadillac ATS-V on the track making quick laps and performing like a car that can easily take on the BMW M3 and win. Is this the right car for you? That really depends upon what you want in your Cadillac. If you think you should have a car that is a large land yacht that will look great with a full couch in the back this is not the Cadillac for you.

On the other hand if your idea of a luxury car is one that is also a sports car the ATS-V is perfect for your driving. This one is the smaller of the two V-Series car and the one that gives you the fun drive and plenty of great Cadillac features for you to enjoy the car and the ride. Let’s take a look at what the ATS-V has to offer you.

The engine you will find under the hood is one that will absolutely amaze you. This engine is a 3.6-liter twin turbocharged V6 that puts out massive horsepower. That number comes up to 464 which is wicked coming out of a V6, but that’s not all, you feel the grunt of 445 lb.-ft. of torque to be an impressive number for the power of this awesome car. This power is enough to make it so the car can make the run to sixty mph in only 3.8 seconds. That isn’t all it has to offer though.

The suspension you receive on this car is one that will keep you in balance at all times. On the track you can stiffen up the drive to feel every bit of the car and make the right moves for some of the fastest driving ever seen in a car this size. Of course since it’s a Cadillac you have modes to set the car to a smooth and compliant drive that makes for a great ride when you get off the track. Even the transmission feels awesome which you have the choice of either an eight-speed automatic or a six-speed manual to give you a smooth shifting car that is a great ride wherever you drive.

Should I mention all the Cadillac niceties that make up the technology of this car? I won’t bore you with those because you expect and demand them for Cadillac; suffice it to say they are all aboard and you can even have a Performance Data and Video Recorder that is similar to the one in the Corvette to give you a way to show off to your friends who won’t believe this Cadillac can really move.

At the price that comes in a little above the $60,000 mark you will find the ATS-V is a car that you want to drive. Is it the right car for you to drive? I certainly think so and want one for myself, but if your idea of driving is somehow different you should consider something else, but the ATS-V offers you the ability to have Cadillac comfort and sporty handling and performance all in one package.
