The Camaro SS is All the Camaro You Need

Let’s face it folks, there’s very little chance you’re scheduling time at a nearby race track, and even if you are, the Chevrolet Camaro SS is more than enough car to deliver the overall performance you’re looking for. This is a car that takes everything that’s good about the Camaro with smaller engines and beefs it up to give you a great ride and more power than you know what to do with on the road. No doubt you can have a lot of fun and enjoy the opportunity to own a Camaro SS for much less than you would other sports cars.

Let’s look at some numbers. This car brings you the 6.2-liter V8 engine that pushes out 455 horsepower and 455 lb.-ft. of torque. This car can use either a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic and returns reasonable fuel mileage to make it more than a little worth the drive. If you want a car that can sprint to sixty mph quickly this is a great choice as you’ll see sixty in only a little over four seconds and the price you pay will be under $42,000 overall, giving you an affordable and high powered sports car to love.

This engine is one of the few still on the market that uses a pushrod setup instead of the overhead camshafts than so many others have turned to. Along with this setup you have the benefit of direct fuel injection and variable valve timing to give you a powertrain that can get the fuel in the engine much better than nearly every other vehicle on the road. This car is one that is a lot of fun to drive and has a name that nearly everyone recognizes as one of the signature American sports cars.

The exterior of this car is easy to recognize as the sports car that it is, but when you get inside you’re greeted with a no frills interior that offers you all of what you need and none of the stuff you aren’t looking for. That can be one of the most attractive features of this great car that’s been considered the sports car we want to drive more often than most others. The only drawbacks to the interior have to do with the outward visibility, which has always been a troubling spot for the Camaro and the fact the infotainment screen is angled downward, although we’re not sure why.

One the road you’ll forget all about any negative thoughts about this car as you scream down any street and enjoy the sounds of the exhaust that sing a happily powerful tune. You can enjoy the feel of the steering and know that you’re in a car that wants to be driven right from the start. If you have the magnetic ride control system you do get to change the feel to something smooth for cruising or switch to a ride that allows you to notice every blemish on the road. Enjoy this video and see if the Camaro SS is the right car for you, I know it’s certainly one of my favorites.
