We see new names enter the automotive market every year. The Geneva Motor Show seems to be the place to have a new car shown off and let a new automaker show what they can do. With so many designers and engineers in the European area that look for new challenges, these pop up companies make their way to this show to give us a great look at what we can expect and enjoy from their company. One such company that made its way to Geneva this year is Italdesign Automobili Speciali which is an Italian automaker in the most boutique of ways possible.
This company brought their own first model to the show to be a new supercar that would be offered for us to admire and enjoy. This car is somewhat aptly named the Zerouno and it will be one of only five that will be built by Italdesign. This car is an angled and powerful supercar that does more of what we want on the track that it will most likely be driven. If there was a show stopper in Geneva this was it and the crowd around this car gathered to watch this video and learn more about this amazing new car.
The Zerouno is powered by an Audi-derived 5.2-liter V10 naturally aspirated engine that can produce 610 horsepower. The power is routed to all four wheels to give this car the AWD that we want it to have on the track and off. The Zerouno is made to be able to reach sixty mph in only 3.2 seconds while posting a top speed of 205 mph. Yes, these are numbers that make a huge difference and impress us in the show form, but what is this car made of?
The goal for the team at Italdesign was to create a car that offered every body panel made from carbon fiber and this was achieved. This certainly gives the car a lightweight build, but we haven’t been given the actual weight of the car just yet. In addition to being light, this car is built to be one of the most aerodynamic ever built with a y-duct in the nose that keeps the front wheels on the ground while the other aerodynamic features help to push the rear of the car up and down to offer the downforce needed without the drag.
There is even going to be a Corsa package that will be offered which will unfortunately make the car illegal to drive on the street. This package will offer lightweight wing mirrors, racing seats, a racing spoiler and a titanium muffler. There’s no word on the cost for this car, but for a car that will only be built in five different examples the cost may be irrelevant for those that can afford them. This amazing car is certainly something to admire and look forward to discussing, even though it’s only being offered in a few examples for the public.
