Which Buick Grand National GNX is Heading to Auction?

When you hear that a car is going to be offered at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, AZ you know this car is one that should be extremely special. This particular Grand National GNX is certainly a special one that will be offered. This model is the first ever that was sold to a private customer and it carries the VIN to prove that it was the first one offered from the versions that were built and offered at the time that the Grand National was being offered for us to drive.

The VIN offered is 003, which has a unique history. While VIN 001 and 002 were kept with GM and never sold, number 003 had a bit of a tour before it was offered for sale. This car was used as part of the media fleet for a time and many of the publications of the time were able to enjoy some time behind the wheel of this car before it was finally sold. This car was sold in Michigan with 8,200 miles on the odometer to its first owner who then sold the car in 1989 to the second owner who drove it for a bit before parking it for many years.

After sitting idle for twenty years and being given a full mechanical restoration this Buick Grand National GNX is one that will be offered at the 2018 auction in Scottsdale to figure out what price this car will demand. Right now the car only has 10,790 miles on it, making the total put by private owners only 2,590. The price should be significant for this car with its history and the increased value of the name of this car that we’ve seen over the past several years.
