The talk of the new Ford Bronco has been so strong that we thought this new SUV would arrive on the market very soon.
The expectation was that we might see it as soon as the 2020 model year, and even though we haven’t ruled it out, Ford has released information that tells us it might arrive later than that. The Ford team has informed us that the models that will be offered in order will be the Explorer, the F-Series pickup trucks, and the Bronco, making this new SUV the last to arrive.
The “Coming in 2020” Statement; Truth or Lie
Ford got our hopes up high, and we don’t have reason to think we can’t still see the new Bronco in the 2020 calendar year, but we might have gotten ahead of ourselves. If we expected this new off-road SUV to arrive as part of the 2020 model year, we would see it in 2019. While that’s not impossible, the fact is, in order to make this statement true, all Ford will need to do is offer us the Bronco at a show in 2020 and let it be one of the new 2021 model year offerings.
What Else Can We Surmise
Since we know the new Ford Explorer will be offered first, we do know this new SUV will make its debut in the current calendar year, possibly at the Detroit Auto Show this month. We’ve already seen a police version of this new SUV to give us a look at what the production public model will be. Now that we know the new F-Series will arrive before the Bronco, it could be that we will see a new truck from Ford late in 2019 to be part of the 2020 model year to give us a new F-150.
The Sensible Approach from Ford
Ford isn’t on the same schedule as GM and Ram to revamp their trucks, and that does give the other brands a leg up for a short period of time. The Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, and Ram1500 were all updates and rebuilt for the 2019 model year, while the Ford F-150 continues to be part of the current generation. It makes sense that the F-150 will arrive for the 2020 model year and offer us a new truck to know and love when it’s time for a great drive.
The Bronco is Coming, Soon
We know the Ford Bronco is coming and it will be an SUV that’s built to challenge the Jeep Wrangler for the off-road performance that you’re going to love when you get out on the trails and take a ride. This is something we’re looking forward to and we wouldn’t have been upset if Ford had told us the Bronco was first. There is a chance that Ford will surprise us and change the schedule, but for now, we shouldn’t expect this SUV to arrive on the market until the 2021 model year.
