The Annual Northwest Automotive Press Association (NWAPA) Mudfest is a contest of true capability that’s held in a gorgeous location every year. With the setting and backdrop of the hills and mountains offered in this part of the country, there were two brands that showed off and took some of the top awards as they showed their dominance across the Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton, WA.

The NWAPA Contest that Tested These Vehicles

Judging for the contest was completed by more than 25 automotive journalists who had the pleasure and the job of spending two days test driving the vehicles on paved and off-road routes in order to figure out which ones are the right choices for the awards. These journalists tested26 vehicles from 16 manufactures to select the right ones in six categories: Subcompact Utility, Compact, and Mid-size Utility, Family Utility, Premium Utility, Trucks, and Extreme Capability. The overall winner was the Jeep Wrangler which is an SUV that we’ve loved and admired for over seven decades.
