The Honda Civic has been one of our favorite small cars to drive for a long time with a sporty style and active driving qualities for you.

This car has been active, energetic, and efficient. When you’re trying to figure out which version of this car should be the one you want to take home, there are six different trims and two body styles for you to choose from. Normally, you’ll have seven trims, but 2021 is a year without the Si model as part of the lineup.

Whether you choose the sedan or the hatchback, you’re going to have an impressive car to drive. Some of the trims are only offered in each body style and not both. When looking for the most room for your cargo, the Civic hatchback has the versatility you won’t find in the sedan model, but the sedan gives you an attractive look that you can easily admire.

Going Down the Lineup for the Honda Civic

LX

The starting point for this little car is the LX trim. This model is powered by a 2.0-liter engine that offers you excellent efficiency. You’ll enjoy the benefits of the Honda Sensing suite of safety features, 16-inch wheels, automatic climate controls, and LED daytime running lights.

You’ll find a relatively basic version of the infotainment system with a five-inch color screen that has Bluetooth connectivity and a USB port. As a basic model, the Honda Civic LX does not have Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, or folding rear seats unless you choose the hatchback body of this base version.

Sport

You’ll likely be drawn to the Sport trim of this car. You’ll find a seven-inch touchscreen that brings you the connection you want with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This trim also gives you a leather-wrapped steering wheel, keyless entry,push-button starting, an upgraded audio system, and the HondaLink system. This system allows you to control some features of the car from a mobile device.

Type R

If you’re looking for the sportiest version of the Honda Civic, you’ll be pleased to get behind the wheel of the Type R model. This version has the most power and it has many performance features for you. The Type R is only offered in the hatchback body style. You’ll find a Performance Monitor and a G-Meter which are specific to this trim to keep track of your performance information.

EX

Stepping into the EX trim of this Honda brings you a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine for the drive. You’ll also enjoy the LaneWatch system, a power moonroof, an eight-way power driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate controls, heated front seats, a remote engine starter, and satellite radio to give you some of the items that make driving more comfortable for you.

EX-L

Many times, looking at the difference between the Honda Civic EX and EX-L only means leather upholstery, but this model gives you more. Along with leather seating, the EX-L gives you an auto-dimming rearview mirror and the HomeLink universal garage remote. These additional items can make driving this version of the Civic the right choice for you.

Touring

The sedan version of the trim is called Touring and the hatchback is called Sport Touring. This is the top model of the Civic and it allows you to have an amazing list of features. Enjoy a ten-speaker/450-watt premium audio system, satellite radio, a navigation system with traffic information, a power passenger seat, LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a heated rear seat. The Sport Touring version can be had with a manual transmission to give you more fun during your drive.
