A new Infiniti QX80 full-size luxury SUV is scheduled to arrive for the 2025 model year. This new, luxurious SUV should follow its platform mate Nissan Armada.

The QX80 Monograph Concept was scheduled to debut in March, but that’s been postponed, and we get to look forward to this new arrival in the summer instead. The testing mules have been out on public roads, giving us a look at some big, bold, and monolithic SUVs that should wear the new qualities associated with this big and luxurious Infiniti SUV. Let’s see if we can glean some information about what this new QX80 should offer.

The front styling is on point

On the front of the testing models, a pair of split-tier headlights flank the mesh grille. The primary units are recessed lower in the bumper, with a set of daytime running lights sitting up higher on the front to offer a wonderful look. Although much of the new Infiniti has been hidden by camouflage, the skin-tight swirls couldn’t hide the creases in the hood and glass-heavy cabin with chrome trim that make up a classic look.

The rear of this new SUV has an upright tailgate that shows brightwork that separates the glass and metal with taillights that feature unique segmented styling.

The QX80 cabin should be much better

The outgoing version of the Infiniti QX80 shares strong lines with the Nissan Armada. The new Infiniti flagship SUV offers a greatly improved interior area with more room in the third row, classier materials, and a more attractive cabin style.
Infiniti brings upgrades in the technology department, giving this new SUV a large digital instrument cluster, a 12-inch infotainment screen, wireless device charging, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. New owners will also enjoy the over-the-air (OTA) updates, ambient lighting, and impressive luxury packaging made to give this SUV the right look.

Can this Infiniti SUV go out on the trails?

This new QX80 brings dedicated driving modes, including settings for heading out on the trails for some fun. As expected in modern SUVs, this new Infiniti SUV should include a long list of standard semi-autonomous, Level 2 driver assists that make driving this big SUV much easier.

The use of an AWD system brings the traction required to take this new SUV out on the trails, ensuring you can enjoy some off-road fun with an impressive luxury SUV.

What powertrain does the new Infiniti QX80 include?

The biggest change we should see in this new Infiniti SUV is under the hood. The 5.6-liter V8 should be gone from existence, and a new 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 in its place. This new engine could include a 48-volt mild hybrid system. This should give the QX80 more than 400 horsepower, with power sent to all four wheels through a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Rumors have surfaced of a new all-electric version of the Infiniti QX80. This new model could include a 100-kWh battery pack and a driving range of more than 300 miles. This EV SUV hasn’t been confirmed for the future, but it could be part of the lineup once this new gas-powered model arrives.

Does the new Infiniti SUV bring a better ride?

Infiniti continues to keep the basic characteristics of the QX80 in the new build, meaning it will have a strong, truck-like, body-on-frame platform. To make this big luxury SUV feel more luxurious, Infiniti includes a much better ride quality and handling than the previous model. This allows the QX80 to be on par with the new Range Rover Vogue, making for a smoother ride on any road.

Not much else is known

The new Infiniti QX80 will arrive as part of the 2025 model year. This full-size luxury SUV brings us more of the qualities we desire and can transition to a new EV version in the future. With most vehicles moving in this direction, it’s the right move for this big Infiniti SUV. Unfortunately, much of what we’ve offered is nothing more than conjecture because this SUV hasn’t been revealed yet.

If you’re looking forward to a look at this new Infiniti SUV, you’ll have to wait until this summer to see what the new QX80 Monograph Concept model brings to the table. This impressive SUV shares a platform with the new Nissan Armada, but the underpinnings might be all of the similarities between these two SUVs.

Will the new Infiniti QX80 make it on your shortlist of SUVs that you want to drive?
