One Seriously Aggressive Beetle Modification

The original Beetle was not only the longest running and most purchased car on the planet it’s also one that has been modified more than just about any other car. You have seen the Beetle used in circus acts, made into a monster car and of course, one of the most famous transformations, the Dune Beetle. This car has been used to race to haul to carry and to plow through just about anything you can think of and nearly every automaker has had their car parts put into a Beetle, sometimes just to see what would happen.

As it turns out there is a car on eBay that appears to be a 1971 Volkswagen Beetle, but it has all the guts and gusto of a C4 Corvette. This car showed up with a list price of only $17,000 and it could be a real steel for anyone who’s interested in a Beetle that can actually take off like a rocket. Without a doubt the car had to be heavily modified for it to work as a car that would combine two of our favorite machines into one insanely fun vehicle to look at and hopefully to drive.

The frame for the Bettlvette is a custom steel tubular space frame and the bodywork is nine inches wider than the stock size of the Super Beetle. This makes room for the Corvette part of the car which has the front and rear suspensions along with the strong 5.7-liter V8 engine that brings in a full 400 horsepower to the interestingly modified Beetle. With these changes intact, the front lid hinges are near the bumper on this car which is opposite most of the regular Beetle cars, this was a change made necessary by installing all the Corvette parts underneath.

Other changes we see are huge fender flares to make room for the sixteen-inch wheels that use a set of sport tires which would suggest this car has been to the track and likely quieted all those who were pointing and laughing at the car. According to the seller there is no rust on the car and it does appear to have a professional quality to build, which can sometimes be a lacking feature when you have a blended and modified car. It seems, if this car is everything the seller says it is, the $17,000 price tag would be a steal to get this car to your home and have it as the car you show off in on the weekends.

Whether you love the Beetlvette or you simply think it’s silly, there is no denying the engineering and work that had to go into making this car become a reality. As one of the most modified cars in the world the Beetle actually looks really good with all the Corvette parts underneath, giving it a mean and sinister look, which is something you don’t often associate at all with the Volkswagen Beetle. You never know where a great Beetle modification is going to show up as the Beetlvette certainly shows us so keep a sharp eye out for the next one to appear.
