The AEV Ram 1500 can be the perfect truck for you to have maximum off-road adventures and experience the fun desired in the wilderness.

When you want to have a great truck but you want more than what the truck normally offers, the Jeep or Ram that you want to enjoy can be upgraded by the team at American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) to give you more of the qualities you want to enjoy. For the past twenty years, AEV has been making parts to ensure the Jeep and Ram models that are upgraded will work perfectly in these vehicles. Every part is American made and when they install the Recruit packages, you have a truck or SUV that offers more for your off-road adventures.

Taking a Rebel and Making it a Recruit in the Ram 1500

To see how the AEV team gets the job done, they took a Ram 1500 Rebel model and added the Recruit conversion kit to it which allows it to have more performance items than in the past. While the Rebel is certainly a truck that can handle the adventure of the trails, the Recruit package upgrades the performance. The air springs are retained in this version and the engine with its gearing ratio is also retained as this truck is upgraded to become the Recruit.

Lifting the Ram 1500 for More Fun

Because the Recruit package actually lifts this truck up a few inches a new setup is needed to make sure everything works the right way. Instead of altering the parts that were already in place for the suspension lift, the team at AEV fabricated their own replacement cast aluminum steering knuckle to make it possible for the truck to be lifted by four inches. This new knuckle is made of military-grade aluminum that makes the lift possible and moves the wheel assembly forward slightly to make it possible for larger tires to be centered in the fender area.

AEV Protects the Underside of the Truck

To keep the differentials protected on this truck, AEV adds a massive skid plate that’s been stamped in a way to follow the contours of the frame to allow for maximum ground clearance and protection of the underside parts of this truck. In the rear, the AEV team adds spacer blocks under the air springs and relocated the sway bar with longer end links to make sure the truck can lift up and be ready to ride. The result of this change is a comfortable ride that maintains the qualities offered of the Rebel this truck is based on.

Making More for the Ride in this Ram 1500 Rebel

Add a snorkel, a special bumper, and a perfectly outfitted bed and you can see how the AEV team has created the right off-road truck with their Recruit package that can be added to the Ram 1500 Rebel you choose to drive. If you love to head out into some seriously tricky off-road areas, you need to take a look at what AEV has to offer so that you can have an upgraded truck that has parts that fit right and work with what you received from the factory. This team has the expertise and the right way to upgrade your Ram 1500 Rebel.
