When a company has the name of MINI its hard not to have puns created for some fun with the name and have a few laughs. Even though the MINI brand has been one that is made fun of often because it symbolizes smaller vehicles that are easy to make fun of, it has been a brand that has carried a style that we can all admire and found a place in the market that it could easily offer the looks and features we want to enjoy. As a British automotive company MINI has offered us a brand of vehicles that fit well on the streets of Europe which are tight and tiny, but has also become a name that we admire in the US as well.

The most famous name MINI offers us is the Cooper which has been sold it droves around the world over the past few years. This car is the basis for all other MINI models which may be mini in size, but they are mighty in their capabilities. The Cooper has been a longstanding favorite vehicle from this brand for us to admire and enjoy on the road but it seems MINI is ready to bring us a new name to love.

There may only be a few out there that remember the beginning of MINI and the first model name that was offered and now it is being revived for us to enjoy today. Back in 1959, when MINI was started, the brand’s first car was called the MINI Seven and this name will be back on the market for us in the near future. This will be a special edition model that gives us a way to look back and remember the name while offering us a car that is limited in numbers for us to keep as a collectible keepsake that we can drive.

With the size of the MINI vehicles you might feel like it really is a collectible keepsake that belongs on a shelf more than it does on the road, the MINI Seven will be a car that looks attractive and feels special. Unfortunately we won’t have any of the expected retro styling in this special edition car, but you will be able to enjoy a silver roof, silver stripes on the hood and silver accents with the Seven emblems in place on the fenders. This car will be offered in four colors; Lapisluxury Blue, British Racing Green, black and white and also be available in either three or five door builds.

The interior of the Seven will have sport seats that are covered in leather and cloth with piano black trim on the center console and door panels. There will be plenty of Seven emblems featured throughout the interior to give the you special edition model style to be admired and enjoyed.

Under the hood you will have the same 1.5-liter turbocharged three cylinder engine we are familiar with on the Cooper. This engine gives you 134 horsepower and 162 lb.-ft. of torque. The Seven can also be upgraded to the same engine that is found in the Cooper S which is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that has 189 horsepower and 207 lb.-ft. of torque.

If this new model sounds like something you would love to own, be ready as this car will be offered as part of the 2017 model year. The pricing is not yet available, but as a special edition that gives a nod to the beginning of the MINI brand you can expect to pay a bit more than the mini prices that these cars typically offer us, which will certainly be worth the added cost for a car that is on a short production run from the company that has a MINI name.
